Porsche 917LH ‘Hippie Car’ — 1970 Le Mans Poster
A graphic tribute to one of Porsche’s most important racing machines: the Porsche 917LH chassis 917-043, ‘Hippie Car’, featuring the iconic psychedelic livery in incredible detail.
Driven by Gérard Larousse and Willi Kaushen, the No. 3 917LH started 12th and survived a brutal, rain-soaked race to complete 338 laps and 4,541.95 km, finishing second overall. Its 4.5-litre flat-12 engine, long-tail bodywork and unmistakable livery made it one of the defining endurance racing icons of the early 1970s.
This poster reinterprets the car through a bold contemporary graphic language: spirals, deep purple, warm cream accents, and large-format 917 typography. The composition combines accurate race-livery detail with a modern poster-art treatment, designed for collectors, Porsche enthusiasts and Le Mans obsessives.
